Tea Building #
Oct-Nov 2012 at ENTRANCE in Marfa, Texas
Over a 4 week period, I constructed and reconstructed a tea room in a small storefront. Tea was served three nights a week free of charge to all visitors. In between opening hours, the room was reconfigured through arranging tarp partitions, lights, making and modfiying improvised furniture and other simple interior elements. Tea Building simultaneously functioned as a spatial laboratory and an alternative social space. During the course of the project, I created and displayed photographs and drawings documenting all iterations of the room.
Thanks to ENTRANCE, Yoseff Ben-Yehuda and Rosa Mcelheny.
